Dr. Rand Paul Censored on Social Media

Sentry hill, sentryhill,sentryhill. Com,

Dr. Rand Paul is a U.S. Senator who was elected to the Senate in 2010.

Originally from Lake Jackson, Texas, he attended Duke University Medical School and graduated in 1988.  After completing his residency, he moved with his wife and family to Bowling Green, Kentucky in 1993 where he practiced ophthalmology for 18 years.  Dr. Paul and his family still reside in Bowling Green and as a devout Christian, he is heavily involved in his local church and volunteer work.

In 1995, he founded the Southern Kentucky Lions Eye Clinic which provides eye services and surgery to those in need and is a member of the Lions Club International which is dedicated to preserving the eyesight of economically challenged people around the world.  He has received awards for his humanitarian services including the Melvin Jones Fellow Award from the Lions Club International and the Twilight Wish Foundation awarded him in 2002 for his commitment to helping seniors preserve their eyesight.

Political Platform

Dr. Rand Paul is a member of the Republican Party and was nominated to run in the 2016 Presidential race.  The issues that he addressed in his political platform were and are:

  • Funding for Community health centers instead of Planned Parenthood
  • Defund Planned Parenthood and stop taxpayers’ dollars to fund abortion
  • Supports Plan B morning after pill
  • Religious freedom
  • Opposes abortion
  • Recognition of human fetus at inception
  • Includes pre-born fetuses under 14th Amendment protection
  • Protect infant survivors of abortion
  • Marriage for heterosexual couples-contracts for same-sex
  • Opposes affirmative action

Views on COVID 19

Dr. Paul has been outspoken in his criticism of how the U.S. Government has handled the coronavirus.  He is against lockdowns and covid restrictions.  He also believes that getting vaccinated should be a personal decision.  AP News reports him as saying, “We don’t really need people who believe in some sort of elitism to tell us what to do,” said Paul, who is an eye surgeon, speaking before a luncheon audience. “I think we’ve got pretty good sense.”

Dr. Paul and Dr Anthony Fauci have been at odds over the issue. In a hearing in May, Dr. Paul made assertions that the NIH helped to fund the Wuhan laboratory while Fauci countered that Paul was “obstructing the truth.” But many people wonder, how much has the CDC done to obstruct the truth? How about the World Health Organization?

How much action have they taken with China to obstruct the truth? We still have yet to figure out the origins of the virus and if it was deliberate or an accident. If it was deliberate, then China owes reparations, if it was an accident, China is still culpable for unleashing such havoc on the world.

Banned from YouTube

Recently, YouTube placed a 7-day ban on Dr. Paul restricting his access to post on the social media platform.  The New York Post reports that YouTube told CNN that he had been banned in the “first strike of their three strikes rule.”

This ban was over a video that Dr. Paul posted stating that masks are ineffective against the corona virus.  This is what Paul had to say about the matter.  ““A badge of honor . . . leftwing cretins at YouTube banning me for 7 days for a video that quotes 2 peer reviewed articles saying cloth masks don’t work,” Paul wrote, adding that the video is available on a different platform.

But this is funny in a sad way because even Dr. Fauci noted that the masks that you can buy at your local store are ineffective against COVID-19.

Dr. Paul and Dr. Fauci staunchly disagree over the effectiveness of wearing masks.  Of course, Dr. Fauci has disagreed with himself in the past on masks as well, as noted by his emails.

Dr Paul remains skeptical about their efficacy while Dr. Fauci has flip flopped to insist that they are a good protective measure.

Dr. Paul is not the only one being targeted for his outspoken views on COVID 19.

Republican Representative from Georgia, Marjorie Taylor Greene was suspended from Twitter for saying that the vaccine for the coronavirus is failing.  Twitter, YouTube and Facebook have all faced criticism over their censorship rules.  This is not surprising since these instances of censorship set dangerous precedents in regard to Freedom of Speech.

Even more frightening are reports of the White House working with social media platforms to flag and limit “misinformation about the virus”.  Based on responses from those who have been censored, Dr. Paul and others will continue to speak out against mishandling of the coronavirus and further attempts to restrict the American public in the name of “public safety”.
