Japan Partially Says No To the Moderna Vaccine

Japanese authorities have noted that it will suspend more than than a million doses of the Moderna vaccine. The reason why it will suspend a over a million doses of the Moderna vaccine is because it wants to conduct quality control. Foreign susbtances were found in the vaccines and so far two two people died from injections with contaminants in them. Reports indicate that Japan is battling another wave of COVID-19 cases, reporting more cases in this month.

The reports of the contamination come from Okinawa and Gunmo.

A Black Substance Found in The Moderna Vaccine

Reuters notes that “a tiny black substance was found in a Moderna vaccine vial in Gunma, an official from the prefecture said, while in Okinawa, black substances were spotted in syringes and a vial, and pink material was found in a different syringe.”

Japanese authorities have noted that they will conduct an investigation on the matter. They are being precautious and making sure that they can stem any potential issues that may result from the vaccine. Over 500,000 people have taken the vaccine from certain batches of the Moderna supply.

While there are no immediate reports of incidents from others who have taken the shots, you can be sure that more people in Japan are on high alert after this incident.
